Current Reporting Requirement(s):
All investor-owned and municipal utilities “with 100,000 customers or more” must record, calculate, and report SAIFI, SAIDI, and CAIDI indices at the syste, operating area, and individual circuit level. The same figures are required to be reported for “each circuit in each operating area.” MAIFI data is not required, but utilities must “maintain as much information as feasible on momentary outages.” “Major catastrophic events” are included in index reporting; some utilities report indices both with and without. Planned outages or losses of supply from transmission are to be excluded from index calculations. Additional reporting requirements apply to interruption events that reach a certain level of magnitude.
